Model A Friends
We have certainly had a frigid January. It took brave and hardy souls to go for a cruise in their Model A’s, but the temperature is rising and soon we can be back on the road again. Let’s hope the weather stays moderate for our Spring Tour scheduled for March 23-25. The Spring Tour is hosted by Kent and Jeanne Washburn and Rich and Donna Robinson of the Tulsa Model A Ford Club. The tour this year will be to Elk City and the main attraction will be the National Route 66 Museum. You can check our website or the Tulsa website or the Scuttlebutt for details of the itinerary and hotel. More details of routes and meeting places for convoys to Elk City will be in the March edition of the Scuttlebutt. If you haven’t been on a tour you don’t know what you are missing. Make your hotel reservation, tune up the old A, and get ready for a fun week end. If your A is not ready for a tour, drive your modern car. The important thing is to be there and enjoy the company of your Model A friends and they can enjoy yours.
Despite the low temperature we had a good turnout for the January meeting. VaughnCille read letters of appreciation regarding the MAFCA National Awards Banquet. Will Langford presented a great slide show outlining the events of the Awards Banquet. The refreshments were provided by members of the board.
We are still short of volunteers for board and committee members. We need a vice president, activities chairman, refreshments chairman, name tags chairman, and demonstrations chairman. Please contact any board member if you can fill one of these important positions. Speaking of refreshments, we only had two members sign the refreshments sheet for February and March. Please email or call Chuck Dusenbery if you can help with either of those months.
Looking forward to seeing you on the road.
Jim Yates 2018 President
