For you that missed the 2016 Fall Tour you missed a great opportunity to not only drive your Model A or your modern to car to some great sites but you also missed the interaction with our friends in Tulsa. We had over 30 cars participate from both clubs.
We started our tour on a beautiful fall day with a drive to Kingfisher to tour the Chisolm Trail Museum and the George Seay Territorial Governor’s Mansion. We were certainly the center of attention in town as we drove down highway 81 thru town. We followed this up with a short drive down to Okarche and some fabulous fried chicken at Eischens. Saturday we started with a tour of the OKC Memorial followed by a picnic lunch at Memorial Park and then on to Don Bolton’s collection of Brass Era Cars. We ended the evening with a catered dinner at the hotel. We will be hosting the Spring tour next year so start making plans to join us.
We have a number of events coming up including the return of the Stockyards Cowboy Christmas parade on December 3rd. Check the event calendar on our website and Facebook as well as the Scuttlebutt. Parades and events like this continue to be one our best way to advertise our club and recruit new members.
Looking forward to seeing you on the road.

A memorial service for Bill Jenkins has been scheduled for 10am Monday morning. The services will be held at St. Luke's Methodist Church at 222 Nw 15th. Oklahoma City, Ok.
Carma and the family have asked for the Sooner members to drive their A's to the service and have reserved parking just for the A's.
I know I join all of the Sooner members in expressing our deepest sympathies to Bill's family.

You don’t have to check the calendar to know that July has arrived. The 100 degree temps have arrived and look like they are going to be here for a while.
Our Sooner members who made the Texas Tour as well as the Regional in Colorado are all back home safe and sound. There were a few breakdowns along the way but from what I am hearing a good time was had by all.
We started out the month with the Bethany July 4th Parade followed by a wonderful BBQ picnic with the Heartland Model T Club. Special thanks to David and Teresa Powell for opening their home to us for this special event. I had hoped for more cars for the parade but 13 Sooners answered the call and showed up for the event. We had two cars making their first parade with the Club. With Don and Marilyn’s car out of commission Phil & Kaye loaned them the Vicky to drive. New members Chuck and Karen’s 1930 Town Sedan broke down after they followed Don and Marilyn to Phil and Kaye’s house. Phil & Kaye loaned them the Sedan delivery for the parade. Thanks to Kaye for having so many Model A’s and so willing to share.
This month’s club meeting is made even better by the Ice Cream Social. Kaye passed around a sign up sheet for Ice Cream and treats at last month’s meeting. I think we are covered but as always anything is welcome. We have a last Saturday breakfast planned at the Runway Café at the Wiley Post Airport. Details in the calendar and the Scuttlebutt.
Looking forward to seeing you on the road,

June is here and that means a couple of national events. The Texas tour kicks off June 9th - 12th followed by the Regional tour in Longmont June 19-24th. Both of these will be outstanding events. Several Sooners will be attending these events.
We kick off the month with a Flash Drive to Shawnee and Tecumseh on the 4th of June. New club member Joe Inda has invited us to tour his car collection in Tecumseh, Ok.. If are planning to make the trip please let Phil know so we can get a count. You can find the event details in the event calendar and the Scuttlebutt. Our regular club meeting will follow on the 21st. With all of the regional tours we don't have any other outings scheduled for the rest of June.
It was a real treat to have Bob Bordwine back for May's meeting demonstration on generators.I never fail to learn something new during one of his technical demonstrations. While a lot of cars run modern alternators many cars still use the stock generator and a refresher course is always appreciated.
A new Photo Album has been added to the website with pictures from the 2006 Regional Meet here in Oklahoma City. I am sure you will enjoy seeing some old and familiar faces.
Rusty and Gerry Swain were also at last months meeting. Rusty continues to recover from his broken hip. Bill Jenkins continues his therapy related to his fibrosis. If there are other member concerns please let Katie Ownens know. Let's continue to keep these folks in our thoughts and prayers.
Looking forward to seeing you on the road,

When I was a kid the first day of May meant many things. My birthday was close, school would soon be over and finally summer was almost here. Well now it means that the weather is perfect for some drive time in you A.
May brings us a a couple of activities that I think you will enjoy. We have schedule a "Flash Drive" to the Halftime Grill on 6812 SW 55th just off of Newcastle road. They have great Fried Chicken and burgers. We also have a picnic scheduled for the 21st at Veterans Park 1900 SE 4th in Moore. Club will be cooking hamburgers and hotdogs. Please bring a side dish to share and your lawn chairs. We need volunteers to help with the setup and cooking. Regular club meeting on the 17th at Will Rogers.
Hope to see you in your A!

It's easy to tell that spring has full sprung and summer is not far behind. One need only look at all of the budding trees and flowers to see that it's that time of year. We have two great events this month beginning with the combined Spring Tour with the Tulsa Model A Club. A complete itenerary is available here on the site on the right side menu.
Next on the list is the annual Guthrie 89'er parade. This kicks off with line up in Guthrie at 10 on the 23rd. with the parade getting under way at 12. Afterward is there is enough interest we will gather for lunch. More details in the Scuttlebutt.
Regular club meeting on the 19th back at Will Rogers. We had a great turn out for the Sunday meeting in March and hope to do more of them.
See you on the road.

I can't remember when March arrived with such nice weather. We kicked off the month with our first outing driving to Eishcens in Okarche and then on to El Reno. 13 cars made there way up NW Highway and then back home on Rt.66. You can find pictures on Facebook and here on the website in the Photo Galleries.
The annual St Patricks Day Parade kicks off Saturday March 12th. Line up begins at 9:30 and the parade begins at 11. Line up will be near the Chesapeake Arena as it was last year.
Don't forget our special Sunday Meeting on the 13th. at 2PM. We are hoping that more folks will be able to drive their cars during the day. The meeting will be at 6718 NW 50th at Bill Harris's garage. We are short on chairs so please bring a lawn chair .
The annual Chickasha Pre-War Swap Meet is the next week.
We have a busy month ahead of us and we hope to see you on the road.
