Welcome to August,
It has been a very hot summer so far but a number of us did get our Model A’s out for the parades in Bethany and Edmond, as well as the Capital tour on 28 July. Thank you to Phil Wolfenbarger and Jim Yates for filling out the parade applications and being the contact point for the parades. We even won a first place prize and $25.00 in the Edmond parade. We are open to any and all ideas for participation in future events. It is the members who make any club successful. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to contact me or any Board member with your ideas or suggestions. All help is appreciated.
Thank you to Sheryl Hoyle for providing and leading the club in the recent game nights at our monthly club meetings. Has this been helpful in providing more involvement of the members in the club meetings? Is this something we should do more of? Is this a way to make the monthly meetings more interesting and have more members attend? This also applies in getting more young people involved in Model A’s.
Once again, thank you to our Vice-President Phil for stepping in and running the board meeting and club meeting while I was unable to be there. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the club meeting on Sunday, 14 August at 2:30pm for the watermelon that will be provided by the club. Then we have the Incredible Pizza get together on Sunday, 28 August at 2:00pm at 5833 NW Expressway, OKC.
It is time again for the club to form the nominating committee to look for club members to serve as an officer or board member. The final election will be at the September club meeting on 17 September. The floor will be open also at that time for any nominations from the floor. All persons nominated have to agree to serve if elected, so if you are nominating someone, please let them know.
It is everyone’s club and participation by all is not only very important, but it also makes our events more enjoyable when more people are involved. The committees, parades, tours, and events need all of us.
